February 16, 2012 7:47am
(Updated 9:10 a.m.) - All classes in Albay province resumed on February 16, Thursday, one day after the province declared no classes after heavy rain caused a local river there to overflow.

Albay Governor Jose Salceda gave the order to resume classes at 5 a.m. on Thursday, and the announcement was disseminated through the barangay captains and local media before 6 a.m., according to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC).

"Na-circulate na po sa info board ng Albay before 6.am.," said Albay Public Safety and Emergency Management Office (APSEMO) Department Head Cedric Daep.

Classes were declared suspended on Wednesday after heavy rain fell on several parts of the province.
