Kin call for justice during burial rites for slain 'boyfriend' of ex-QC solon

February 19, 2012 9:21am
Relatives of a partner of former Quezon City Rep. Nanette Daza called for justice moments before the victim was to be laid to rest Sunday.

The relatives attended a Mass for Noel Orate Sr. wearing white and black shirts calling for justice, radio dzBB's Glen Juego reported.

"Justice for Noel Orate," read the message on the shirts worn by Orate's relatives.

A Mass for Orate was held at the Arlington Memorial Chapel in Quezon City early Sunday before his remains were to be brought to the Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina City.

Orate was shot dead inside the house of former Rep. Daza in Quezon City Feb. 10, following what neighbors described as a heated argument.

Linked to the shooting was Bulacan province board member Allan Robes, husband of city councilor Jessica Daza, the former solon's daughter. — LBG, GMA News
