A 24-year-old saleslady at a department store in Bacolod City claims to have been possessed by the ghost of a 13-year-old girl who was brutally killed in 2003, a Bacolod-based news site reported over the weekend.

Visayan Daily Star said the salesgirl, whose name it withheld, claimed to have been seeing the ghost of the girl in her work place since December 13 last year.

It also quoted a man who witnessed the alleged possession as saying the ghost who possessed the salesgirl claimed to be “Lina,” who said she was killed by construction workers in 2003.

The report said the body of "Lina" was buried in a vacant lot in Bacolod. The lot is now occupied by a business establishment.

According to the report, the salesgirl cited an incident where she had her picture taken, but when it was developed, a dark image could be seen beside her.

When a computer technician tried to digitally erase the image, the salesgirl's face in the photo became distorted.

Last December, the salesgirl said the 13-year-old's ghost appeared to her and she felt heavy before she lost consciousness.

She recalled her co-workers told her that her voice changed and that she became unruly. Seven security guards tried to subdue her but could not pacify her, she said.

Last valentine's Day, she said the ghost "visited" her at her boarding house, where she again fainted and could not remember what happened.

The ghost allegedly claimed her parents are “Lucito” and “Menita.”

With a friend, the salesgirl went to Ma-ao village in Bago City, where they sought the help of an “albularyo" who told her to always wear a crucifix.

For his part, Fr. Felix Pasquin, rector of the San Sebastian Cathedral in Bacolod City, said the salesgirl should seek spiritual help if she is being possessed. — LBG, GMA News
