Weather: Flash floods possible in four Luzon provinces

February 21, 2012 11:30am
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) urged residents in four Luzon provinces on Tuesday to take the necessary precautions against possible flash floods and landslides due to the tail-end of a cold front.

"The tail-end of a cold front will continue to bring mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Northern and Central Luzon becoming widespread rains over the provinces of Quirino, Aurora, Isabela and Cagayan," PAGASA said in its 11:00 a.m. advisory

PAGASA said residents living in low-lying areas and along mountain slopes should be on alert for possible flash floods and landslides.

Meanwhile, PAGASA forecaster Connie Dadivas said the weather in Metro Manila may start to improve, although there will still be rain in other parts of the country.

Dadivas added Northern Luzon can expect rain on Tuesday but the weather there may start improving by Wednesday. - VVP, GMA News
