A 13-year-old Filipino-American girl who went missing in Negros Occidental last month was rescued from the house of a teenager claiming to be her "Facebook friend."   The girl from Bacolod City was found at the house of an 18-year-old male in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental, at about 8 p.m. Friday, the news site Visayan Daily Star reported.    However, the male suspect—who was taken into police custody—insisted he did not force the girl to go with him because she was his girlfriend.   Police went to the supposed Facebook friend's house after the parents learned he brought the girl there, the report said.   According to Jovy Cabcaban, head inspector of the Bacolod City Women and Children’s Complaints Desk, the girl’s parents had reported her missing last January 29.    Despite the boy's insistence he did not force the girl to go with him, Cabcaban said he may face charges for abduction in relation to Republic Act 7610 or the “Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act” because the girl is a minor.    She added that it is now up to the girl’s parents to execute their affidavits so that they can formally file charges against the suspect.    Cabcaban also advised parents to guide their children, especially minors, about using social networking sites like Facebook. - RJMD, GMA News
