De Lima orders parallel probe on death of alleged hazing victim in Antipolo
Justice Secretary Leila de Lima has directed the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to conduct a parallel investigation into the death of San Beda law student allegedly due to hazing.
De Lima gave the directive after Lucito Reglos, father of alleged hazing victim Marvin Reglos, dropped by the Justice secretary's office to seek assistance from the agency past 10 a.m. Thursday.

De Lima stressed that while the Philippine National Police will be the lead agency to conduct the investigation on the incident, the NBI will still push through with a parallel investigation.
She instructed the NBI to assign a medico-legal expert to coundt the re-autopsy on Marvin's body.
The elder Reglos appealed to the DOJ to conduct a thorough investigation on the incident, insisting that his son died due to hazing.
"Sana makita na ng mga estudyante na hindi maganda ang nangyayari sa hazing at sa fraternity. Ako ay nawalan ng anak, samantalang sila [mga suspek] ay nagtatago," Lucito said.
The victim's father said that until now, they have yet to get a hold of any records about his son's death.
Marvin was a 25-year-old freshamn law student from San Beda. He was declared dead on arrival at the Unciano Hospital in Antipolo City last Sunday allegedly after participating in initiation rights of the Lambda Rho Sigma fraternity in Antipolo, Rizal.
