11 in Cebu mega shabu lab case get life terms
Eleven people, nine of them foreigners, were sentenced to life imprisonment after a Cebu court found them guilty of operating a mega-shabu laboratory in Mandaue City in the province eight years ago.
Judge Marilyn Yap convicted 11 of the 12 suspects in a 277-page decision, according to a report on radio dzBB.
Found guilty were:
Acquitted was Hung Chin Chang, a.k.a. Simon Lao, who turned state witness. Hung is a British national who was arrested along with 10 of the convicts in a raid in 2004.
Authorities seized 675 kilos of high-grade methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) worth some P1.3 billion in the raid. — LBG, GMA News
