Some roads in Manila were closed Saturday morning to give way for activities marking the 26th anniversary of the EDSA-1 People Power revolution. Earlier, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said these roads were to be closed from 8 a.m. onwards, and advised motorists and commuters to take alternate routes. Participants in Manila are to unveil a statue of the late former Manila Archbishop Jaime Cardinal Sin, who played an important role in the 1986 revolt. Among the road sections to be closed are: 1. Stretch of P. Burgos Westbound and Eastbound lane from Roxas Blvd. to Lagusnilad 2. Stretch of Bonifacio Drive North and Southbound lane from P. Burgos to 25th Street 3. Stretch of Ma, Orosa North and Southbound lane from TM Kalaw to Padre Burgos 4. Taft Ave. / Finance 5. Lagusnilad / P. Burgos 6. P. Burgos / Palacio 7. Anda Circle / Bonifacio Drive Rerouting
- Light vehicles coming from Northern part of Manila/Pier Zone utilizing southbound lane of Roxas Blvd. shall turn at Anda Circle to A. Soriano to Magallanes Drive to point of destination. - All vehicles coming from Southern part of Manila using Roxas Blvd. Northbound lane upon reaching TM Kalaw shall turn left South Drive, right Independence Rd., right Katigbak, left Southbound lane of Bonifacio Drive to counter flow up to 25th St. back to Bonifacio Drive Northbound lane to point of destination. - All vehicles travelling Eastbound of TM Kalaw shall go to straight to Taft Ave. to point of destination. - All vehicles travelling Westbound of TM Kalaw shall go straight to Roxas Blvd. to point of destination. - All vehicles coming from McArthur, Jones and Quezon Bridges going to Roxas Blvd. shall go straight to Lagusnilad-Taft Ave. and take TM Kalaw St. or U.N Ave. to Roxas Blvd. - All cargo trucks travelling Osmeña Highway – right Pres. Quirino Ave., straight ahead to Nagtahan, AH Lacson, Yuseco St., crossing Jose Abad Santos straight Raxabago, Capulong to point of destination (vice versa)
