Bagong graduates, binalaan ng DOLE vs recruitment scams

Binalaan ng Department of Labor and Employment ang mga magtatapos sa kanilang pag-aaral sa taong ito na maging maingat sa illegal recruiters at placement agencies sa kanilang paghahanap ng trabaho. Giit ng DOLE sa mga nais makahanap ng trabaho, mas mabuting makipag-ugnayan muna sila sa regional at field offices ng DOLE para sa listahan ng licensed private recruitment at placement agencies bago sumabak sa paghahanap ng trabaho. “We encourage new graduates – future workforce members – to be alert and wary against unscrupulous individuals or groups engaged in illegal and predatory employment operations. They themselves should become their own lookout during their job hunting to avoid falling victims,” ayon kay Baldoz. Sa Executive Order No. 797, nabigyang kapangyarihan ang DOLE upang i-regulate at i-supervise ang private sector sa kanilang partisipasyon sa recruitment at placement ng mga manggagawa sa bansa. Ayon kay Baldoz, makikipagtulungan ang DOLE at Public Employment Service Offices (PESO) sa mga jobseeker upang matukoy ang authenticity ng local recruitment agencies. Mayroong updated directory ng PESO offices sa Bureau of Local Employment website ng DOLE. Samantala, iginiit ni Baldoz na maaaring dumalo ang graduates sa job fairs, training, at career counseling ng DOLE na makatutulong sa pagahahanap ng trabaho. “At this time of the year when recruitment scams proliferate, jobseekers, particularly new graduates, should be watchful and should guard themselves against too-good-to-be-true offers that might merely lead them to the path of those who have been victimized by scammers," aniya. — Amanda Fernandez /LBG, GMA News
