Phivolcs: Magnitude-4 quake hits Maguindanao area

A magnitude-4.0 quake hit the Maguindanao area in Mindanao at noon Saturday but there was no initial report of damage or casualty. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake was tectonic in origin and was recorded at 12:08 p.m. In its bulletin, Phivolcs said the quake's epicenter was traced to 44 km northwest of South Upi in Maguindanao. Phivolcs did not immediately cite specific areas where the quake was felt. It said no damage or aftershock was expected from the quake.
