Philippine real estate developers visited Australia last March to explore opportunities for the Filipino and Australian communities there, the Department of Foreign Affairs said Saturday. The DFA said a delegation from the Chamber of Real Estate and Builders Association International Foundation, Inc. (CIFI) visited New South Wales March 16 to 27 for its trade mission and housing fair. Led by president Ave Panes Acuña, the CIFI delegation called on Philippine Consul General Anne Louis at the Philippine Consulate General in Sydney on March 19. During their meeting, Acuña gave a briefing on developments in the Philippine real estate sector and on CIFI's international road shows. "Louis and the CIFI team discussed the prospects for Philippine real estate developers in Australia, not only in the Filipino community but also in the wider Australian community," the DFA said of the meeting. The CIFI delegation met with several Filipino community organizations and private individuals and groups. It also participated in several Filipino community events during their visit to New South Wales. — LBG, GMA News
