John Lapus on Rufa Mae Quinto’s resignation from Showbiz Central

April 17, 2012 7:11pm

“So I asked our executive producer, so maski rin siya, nagulat.

“She’s been working for the past eleven years every Sunday, which is supposed to be a family day and at the same time, church day.

“E, parang napapagod na daw siya and other than that, she will be very busy kasi doing three movies yata nang sabay-sabay…

“So parang Sunday should be a day off for herself na makakasama niya yung family niya—and God.

“I think that’s the idea."

NETWORK TRANSFER?

“So, parang sanay na yata siya mag-taping on a Monday. E, ang Showbiz Central kasi, Sunday.

“So naintindihan ko naman yung point na Sunday is supposed to be a family day for everybody, na ang Sunday ay church day for God.

“Well, ako, baligtad lang kami ni Rufa Mae dahil ako naman, for the past nineteen years, nagtatrabaho ako every Sunday.

“So, bumabawi na lang ako sa Panginoon after the show."

FAREWELL MESSAGE.

“Rufa Mae naman is very honest, so nilapitan lang niya kami isa-isa…

“She hugged and kissed us at sinabi niya magkikita pa naman kami.

“Sinabi niya kung puwede nga raw iko-cover namin yung tatlong pelikulang gagawin niya within this year alone.

“And iyon, definitely, a-attend naman daw siya no’ng aming anniversary which is malapit na kasi, e.

“Last week of April to first week of May ang anniversary ng Showbiz Central, e.

“Five years na actually ang Showbiz Central."

Sino ang kapalit ni Rufa Mae?

“Wala pa naman. But Jennylyn [Mercado] is part of Showbiz Central na so hindi pa natin alam…

“Wala pa talaga kaming idea at all, but what I do know is marami kaming mga bagong segments na ipe-present or that would be launched on our fifth anniversary."

-- Rommel Gonzales, PEP
