The AirAsia Philippine Patriots will host the Indonesia Warriors on Saturday hoping to bounce back from a recent setback in the 3rd ASEAN Basketball League at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The Patriots battle the Warriors at 4 p.m.
The Patriots need to play with a lot of intensity against the Warriors, who are now in third place with an 8-9 win-loss card, especially after coming off a 93-78 defeat to San Miguel. "For us to bounce back, we have to play with lots of energy and passion, we can't take Indonesia for granted this time," said Patriots coach Glenn Capacio. "This game is a big test for the boys."
Nakiea Miller will return to the Patriots, pending league approval, as import in place of Chris Alexander, who left for the United States to attend a pressing family problem, after one game. The 6-foot-10 Miller was replaced by Alexander before last week's defeat against the Beermen.
"I’m so sad, we thought Chris would be the right guy for us, but he also left," said Patriots team manager Erick Arejola. "We need all the support of basketball fans and more luck to hurdle this game."
The Philippines leads the league with a 13-3 record but a loss will tie them with the Beermen, who sits in second with a 13-4 slate.
The Patriots will wear their special Kagitingan (valour) jersey in the home game to honor the brave Filipino heroes of World War II. — JVP, GMA News
