Don't let guard down vs. heat, PAGASA warns NCR residents
Metro Manila residents were warned Wednesday against letting down their guard against the summer heat following Tuesday's isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said May is usually the time when the year's hottest day is recorded.
"Bababa (ang temperatura sa ulan) pero huwag nating kalimutan na sa buwang ito nakakakuha tayo ng pinakamataas na temperatura," PAGASA forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said in an interview on dzBB radio.
On Tuesday, rain fell on parts of Metro Manila, giving residents a welcome break from several days of 36-plus-degree heat.
Aurelio maintained such rain showers and thunderstorms will not fall every day.
"'Pag nagkaroon ng pag-ulan, madalas tayo makakaranas, pero may araw na walang ulan. Sa history natin sa May nakukuha ang pinakamataas na temperatura," he said.
Aurelio also said the rainy season will not be due until at least the last week of May.
"Asahan natin last week of May to first week of June doon mag-uumpisa ang tag-ulan," he said. –KG, GMA News
