FTW: Caguioa deserved the BPC award
In a special episode of FTW, Powerade's Doug Kramer and Petron's Denok Miranda join hosts Jen Reyes and Magoo Marjon to discuss Mark Caguioa's Best Player of the Conference (BPC) award.
Kramer believes that Caguioa was Ginebra's most important player this conference, even if his teammate, Gary David, had a clear shot of winning the title.
"When they entered the playoffs, nakita mo talaga 'yung impact ng pagkawala ni Mark sa team," said Doug.
Marjon also noted that of the BPC candidates, Caguioa was the lone Ginebra player in the group.
"Pag inisip mo yung importance ng isang player sa team, Baguio, Tenorio magkakampi, David, Lassiter, magkakampi. Yung Mark Caguioa, magisa," said Marjon, who highlighted that aside from Caguioa's presence, The Sparks' numbers were also up this conference. Marjon adds that earlier in the conference, Caguioa was averaging in double digits in rebounds.
The hosts believe that Caguioa's eye injury played a big part in Ginebra's performance against B-MEG in the semifinals.
