Pacquiao's lifestyle completely changed, trainer Roach says
Manny Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach said the Sarangani congressman has undergone a complete change in lifestyle – to one free from distractions. Roach said that while Manny was preparing for his bout with Marquez last November, the ring icon was beset with distractions, including being served divorce papers by his wife Jinkee, according to a report by the Los Angeles Times. The Times quoted Roach as saying, "All of the distractions caught up to Manny in his last fight," adding that nights of gambling, additional physical wear and tear from playing basketball, women, and Jinkee's serving him divorce papers a day before the Marquez fight, contributed to a sub-par performance, which earned Manny a controversial majority decision. Since then however, Pacquiao has undergone a complete change in lifestyle. "Now, he's back with his wife, reading the Bible every day, and he's given up basketball," Roach was also quoted as saying. In a prayer meeting last March 27, Pacquiao called himself reformed, saying that he was no longer 'the old Manny Pacquiao' who prayed on Sundays and before meals, but went about his business from Monday to Saturday, saying, "Ayoko [nang] bumalik dun, gusto kong sumunod sa tamang daan." — AMD/LBG, GMA News
