PEZA presents PHL as investment option — Taiwan economic ministry
Philippine Economic Zone Authority director general Lilia de Lima met Taiwanese businessmen and officials of Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs in an investor’s workshop in Taipei Wednesday. Taiwan's Central News Agency (CNA) reported that the Ministry of Economic Affairs invited de Lima to present a situationer on the investment environment in the Philippines. The economic ministry there has scheduled the sending of a business delegation to the Philippines and Indonesia from June 24 to 30, so Taiwanese investors can do on-the-spot research. It said Taiwan should see the Philippines, a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, as a foothold to broaden its market in the area, and take advantage of its consumer market that numbers some 100 million people. Earlier, Taiwan announced plans to hold similar events to promote investment in other foreign markets later this year. CNA said the ministry is scheduled to lead an inspection delegation to India in September and to Japan, Europe and the United States later in the year.
