Security guard robs own bank in Quezon City
Police in Quezon City are now tracking down a security guard who held up his own bank and fled with an undetermined amount of cash Friday night.
The guard, initially identified as Reynante Gante, fled immediately after he pulled off the heist at 7 p.m. Friday, radio dzBB reported early Saturday.
Friday night's incident occurred at the China Bank branch along E. Rodriguez Avenue across Trinity University, the report said.
An initial investigation showed Gante used a firearm to intimidate 12 bank employees into giving him a box of money.
Police went to Gante's house but he did not return there.
Authorities are studying footage from a closed-circuit television (CCTV) system in the bank to get more leads on the incident. — LBG, GMA News
