GMA Network honors Pinoy educators in US
NEW YORK— Leading Philippine broadcast company GMA Network, Inc. — through its international channels GMA Pinoy TV and GMA Life TV – recently honored outstanding Filipino teachers in the United States.
Together with the Association of Filipino Teachers of America (AFTA), GMA Network honored 10 teachers with the "2012 Ulirang Guro Award."
For the elementary division, the Ulirang Guro awards were given to:
For the Middle School category, the awards were conferred to:
Nicol Miraflores of New York City was the sole awardee for the Higher Education category.
The awarding ceremony, held at the Astoria World Manor in New York City on May 12, was attended by 500 people from Philadelphia, Maryland, Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey. - GMA News

- Juanito Hingpis, of Brooklyn, New York;
- Aristides Uy, of New York City;
- Jo-Ann Grande Pjevac, of New York City; and
- Ramona Tabang, of Maryland.
