For the first time since he was convicted by the Senate impeachment court, ousted Chief Justice Renato Corona went to the Supreme Court in Manila Monday noon, where he shook hands, posed for photos and advised employees to move on.

According to a radio report by dzBB's Cecilia Villarosa, Corona got a warm welcome from the emotional high court employees.

The report further said that many employees patiently lined up to meet Corona at his former office.

Many SC staffers were in tears after the meeting.

The ousted Chief Justice left at about 4 p.m., saying he had to see his doctor.

Last week, the Senate impeachment court removed Corona from his post after finding him guilty of culpable violation of the Constitution and betrayal of public trust for failing to declare properties and accounts in his Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth.

Corona decided not to contest the Senate's decision at the Supreme Court and hinted, through his lawyers, he might go back to teaching law. — DVM, GMA News
