Shell to roll back prices of fuel products Saturday
At least one of the "Big 3" oil firms is rolling back the prices of its fuel products effective 12:01 a.m. Saturday, citing dropping world prices of oil. Shell said its rollback comes in anticipation of what some Filipinos may consider a long weekend due to the Independence Day holiday. "We felt that since its going to be almost a four-day holiday magro-roll back kami mamayang midnight," Shell spokesman Bobby Kanapi said in an interview on dzBB radio. Aside from the weekend, Independence Day – which falls on a Tuesday – is a regular holiday. However, Malacañang said Monday, June 11, is a regular working day. Kanapi said they are bringing down prices of regular gas and kerosene by P2 per liter; and diesel and premium and unleaded gas by P1.50 per liter. "Malaking rollback ito (This is a big rollback)," he said but declined to say if further rollbacks are forthcoming next week. Meanwhile, other fuel firms have yet to announce rollbacks as of Friday noon. — LBG, GMA News
