Pacquiao to Pinoys: Respect judges' decision, God has better plan

June 12, 2012 10:26am

Let's respect the judges' decision, and leave everything to God because He may have a better plan in store.

This was Filipino boxing icon and Sarangani congressman Manny Pacquiao's message to Filipinos Tuesday morning, two days after he lost his WBO welterweight title via split decision to Timothy Bradley.

"Siguro para sa atin ipagpasa-Diyos na lang natin, tanggapin natin nang buong puso. Isipin na lang natin God has a good plan for us, a better plan," Pacquiao said in an interview on dzBB radio.

He reiterated that while he felt he won Saturday's (Sunday, PHL time) bout against Bradley, everyone should respect the judges' decision for now.

The Pacman also said Filipinos have shown they can be professional when it comes to sports by respecting the decision of judges.

"Alam ng tao sino talagang nanalo ... God has a big plan, may mas magandang plano ang Panginoon para sa atin," he said.

Pacquiao also reiterated his thanks to Filipinos who supported and prayed for him in his bout with Bradley.

Despite the loss, the Pacquiao family is still pushing through with a trip to Jerusalem, which came about due to Pacquiao's recent spiritual renewal. - AMD, GMA News
