'The Dark Knight Rises' and more at this year's ToyCon
Once again, it’s that time of the year when collectors, hobbyists, and cosplayers gather to present themselves in one of the grandest hobby events of them all—the Philippine Toys, Hobbies, and Collectibles Convention.
Affectionately known as “ToyCon” for short, the annual event celebrates its 11th installment this year, and much has been done and contributed by the participants and organizers to make sure that many and plenty will get their fill come June 15 to 17 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Set in Megatrade Halls 1, 2, and 3, this year’s ToyCon will be one of the biggest and liveliest events of the year, claimed its organizers.

Since its inception back in 2002, the Philippine Toys, Hobbies, and Collectibles Convention has been the focal point for exhibitors, retailers, artists, gamers, cosplayers, and many others in the pop culture world to gather and interact with one another, providing solid ground for many activities, band performances, and contests for the public to join.
With the movie “The Dark Night Rises” scheduled for release this coming July, DC Comics is participating in this year’s ToyCon to hype up the epic conclusion to “The Dark Knight” legend, as well as to showcase the rest of the comics company’s large assemble of heroes.
Cosplay groups Justice PH and Avengers Philippines will also be part of the event. At the press conference held last June 8 at the SM Megatrade Hall, the cosplayers came as some of the world’s greatest heroes. Iconic heroes from DC Comics such as Superman, Batman, Aquaman, and Batman Beyond went head-to-head against Marvel’s own Avengers, featuring Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, and War Machine. –KG, GMA News
Entrance fee to the 11th Philippine Toys, Hobbies, and Collectibles Convention is at P100 per person. Tickets will be available at the event venue. For details, visit their Facebook page.
