Angry birds Heikki delayed a week

June 19, 2012 7:46pm
The racing-themed flavor of the popular video game "Angry Birds" has been delayed by at least one week and may be out June 25, a tech magazine reported Monday.

According to the tech site T3, no explanation was given for the delay of "Angry Birds Heikki," a Formula 1-themed version of the game.

"Originally scheduled to launch (on) June 18th, the official Angry Birds website now lists the upcoming title, which is to build on the company’s sponsorship of F1 racing driver Heikki Kovalainen, as heading for release next Monday, June 25th, a day after the European GP. No reason has been given for the delay," T3 reported.

But it said Rovio, the developer of the hit game, has teased how the title will focus around Kovalainen’s "Angry Birds"-themed helmet.

Kovalainen had sported the helmet for the duration of the current 2012 F1 season, T3 noted.

“Where’s Heikki’s F1 racing helmet gone?! The Angry Birds have a hunch!” T3 quoted the Angry Birds site as saying.

Rovio has so far released several variations of the "Angry Birds" game, including Angry Birds Seasons, Angry Birds Space and movie tie-in Angry Birds Rio. — TJD, GMA News
