Facebook now allows longer comment editing
Here's good news for Facebook users who want to correct or clarify comments they have posted on their friends' Walls: they now have the option to edit their comments even some time after they were posted.
Before this, users of the social networking giant only had a limited time to change their minds before they had to delete their entire post and start typing their comments all over again.
"The edit option appears in the form of a small pencil icon on the right side of your comment. Clicking on the pencil will bring up a drop-down menu the option to edit your comment as well as the option to delete it entirely," tech site Mashable said.
Mashable also quoted Facebook as saying the site will also show the editing history for a comment "so that subsequent commenters or likers have the full context of the conversation.”
This is so that if someone responds to a comment that gets edited, future commenters can see the history - and context - of the conversation.
According to Mashable on Friday, the editing ability went live on Thursday evening, and will gradually roll out to all users over the next few days. — TJD, GMA News
