The Orlando Magic are still deciding whether or not to trade All-Star center Dwight Howard, but the team has made moves to keep other parts of their core, agreeing to an extension with point guard Jameer Nelson and picking up a team option for shooter JJ Redick.

Nelson originally declined a player option that would have paid him $8.6 million, but the former first round pick by the Magic opted to stay with the only team he's ever played in the NBA for, signing a three-year extension for an undisclosed amount of money, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

Nelson averaged 11.9 points, 3.2 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 0.7 steals over 57 games last season. He will be eligible to sign the contract on July 11 (July 12, PHL time), when the NBA-mandated moratorium on new deals is lifted.

Meanwhile, Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Orlando will also pick up the $6.1 team option on the contract of JJ Redick, keeping him on the Magic's roster for another season.
