If you're thinking it's the busy airports or the long process of securing visas that stresses out Filipino travelers the most, think again.

Choosing a destination, seemingly the easiest part of traveling, is actually the biggest stress factor for Filipino jetsetters.

In an international survey commissioned by flight comparison site Skyscanner, 64 percent of Filipino respondents said that deciding where to go is the most stressful part of travel.

Skyscanner said this could be because the Philippines is a country with over 7,100 islands.

Meanwhile, even with the proliferation of budget airlines and promo fares, 21 percent of Filipino respondents said that finding cheap flights is the most taxing part of travel for them.

Securing important travel documents (passports, visas, etc) also stresses out almost six percent of respondents.

Other travel-related stress factors include the airport experience (2.67 percent), setting travel dates (2.60 percent), finding affordable accommodations (1.91 percent), and the financial aspect (1.84 percent).

Around the world

Travelers around the world apparently share the same sentiment as Filipino fliers when it comes to their number one travel-related stress-inducer.

Thirty percent of the survey’s international respondents also said that destination is the biggest stress point when it comes to travel.

Not far behind on the stress-scale is the airport experience, chosen by over 25 percent of respondents, mostly from Brazil, India, and the United Kingdom.

The search for cheap flights also ranked high, with over 24 percent of international respondents choosing it as a top stress factor.
