Aquino arrives at Heritage Park for Dolphy wake
President Benigno Aquino III arrived at the Heritage Park in Taguig City late Thursday afternoon to pay his respects to the late Comedy King, Rodolfo "Dolphy" Vera Quizon. Aquino arrived at 5:30 p.m. but did not pass through the main entrance, according to a report by radio dzBB's Benjie Liwanag Jr. Welcoming him were Dolphy's partner Zsa Zsa Padilla and son Epi Quizon, the report said. Hours earlier, the first day of the public viewing of the ace comedian's remains ended shortly before 3 p.m. Several fans of the ace comedian had patiently lined up to get a glimpse of their idol. Earlier Thursday, fans braved the heat and a one-kilometer walk in exchange for a chance to get a five-second glimpse of their idol. Among those who paid their respects to Dolphy earlier Thursday were broadcaster Reynante "Rey" Langit, former Rep. Romeo Jalosjos, and Philippine Red Cross icon Rosa Rosal. Dolphy died Tuesday night at the Makati Medical Center at age 83. The open viewing of the veteran actor-comedian's remains is scheduled between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. from Thursday to Saturday. Dolphy is to be buried on Sunday. — LBG, GMA News
