NBA: Bulls add Vladimir Radmanovic to fill shooter role
The Chicago Bulls have announced the signing of free agent Vladimir Radmanovic via press release, bringing over the 6'10" shooting threat after the Serbian native spent last season with the Atlanta Hawks.
Per team policy, financial terms of the deal were not announced, but David Kaplan of Comcast Sportsnet Chicago reports that Radmanovic signed a one-year deal.
The 11-year NBA veteran figured in 49 games during the 2011-12 regular season, playing an average of 15.4 minutes and producing 4.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists. He shot 37.6 percent from beyond the arc last season, and has a career mark of 41.6 percent on triples.
The move could be seen as a "two birds with one stone" approach to a looming exodus of role players from last season.
After boasting of one of the deepest benches in the league, this off-season has seen Chicago lose Kyle Korver (Atlanta Hawks), CJ Watson (Brooklyn Nets), and Ronnie Brewer (unsigned). They could also see reserve center Omer Asik depart for the Houston Rockets and third-string point guard John Lucas III sign with the Toronto Raptors.
Radmanovic could theoretically help with both the team's height and firepower, though the team is also looking to add the likes of center Darko Milicic or one from the group of Marco Bellinelli, Willie Green, Randy Foye and Delonte West, reports Aggrey Sam of CSN Chicago. - AMD, GMA News
