July 22, 2012 12:32pm
A village chairman in Manila faces criminal charges for the fatal shooting of another village chairman after an argument in Manila's Sampaloc district Saturday night.

Barangay 480's Jonathan Florendo was tagged by witnesses in the killing of Barangay 478 chairman Hilario Romano at Ma. Cristina St., Sampaloc, radio dzBB's Glen Juego reported.

The report said Manila Police District homicide investigators have interviewed witnesses on Saturday night's incident at Maria Cristina Street.

An initial investigation showed Florendo shot Romano after a disagreement on how to implement security at a school in the Sampaloc district during a zone meeting.

Florendo allegedly had his son bring him his handgun, which he used to shoot Romano, the report said. — LBG, GMA News
