Philippine Olympic boxer Barriga, dasal ang pabaon mula sa pamilya

Sa report ni Glenda Sabenorio ng RGMA-Davao sa DZBB, kumpiyansa ang pamilya ng 19-anyos na si Barriga, residente ng Purok 2, San Vicente, Panabo City, na magtatagumpay ito na makuha ang gold medal sa flyweight (48kg) division.
Si Barriga ay kasama sa delegasyon ng 11 atletang Filipino na susubok na makapag-uwi ng mailap ng medalyang ginto.
Nagsimulang magsanay bilang boksingero si Barriga noong 9-anyos pa lamang siya; ang kanyang ama ang naging una niyang trainer.
Ang amateur boxing career ni Barriga ay nag-umpisa sa Barangay Una Boxing Program sa Panabo City na itinaguyod ni Antonio "Tonyboy" Floirendo, Jr., ang Chief Operating Officer (CEO) ng ANFLOCOR Group of Companies.
