Classes suspended in 12 Valenzuela City schools Wednesday

(Updated 11:30 p.m., 31 July 2012) Classes in at least 12 schools in Valenzuela City remain suspended Wednesday, as tropical storm Gener continues to cause flooding in Metro Manila and neighboring areas.
 
The Valenzuela city government posted a public advisory on its Twitter account listing the affected schools.
 
These include:
 
1.    Rincon Elementary School
2.   Pasolo Elementary School
3.   Isla Elementary School
4.   Tagalag Elementary School
5.   Coloong Elementary School
6.   Pio Valenzuela Elementary School
7.   Wawang Pulo Elementary School
8.   A. Deato Elementary School
9.   PR San Diego Elementary School
10. Nuestra Señora De Guia Academy
11. San Diego Parochial School
12.  Polo National High School
 
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) attributed Sunday night's rain to the southwest monsoon enhanced by Gener, as well as a shallow low-pressure area that passed through Luzon for a few hours. — AL/DVM, GMA News
