18 Valenzuela barangays under state of calamity due to 'Gener'

Valenzuela City placed 18 of its villages under a state of calamity Thursday after being battered by heavy rain and floods in the wake of typhoon "Gener" (Saola).
 
City public information officer Ana Mejia said this stemmed from a meeting attended by Mayor Sherwin Gatchalian and disaster management officials and village officials.
 
"Meron tayong 18 barangay na affected ng 'Gener.' Meron tayong ia-announce na 18 barangay na nag-declare ng state of calamity," she said in an interview on dzBB radio. 
 
She said the city has a total of 33 villages.
 
In a post on its Facebook page, the city government said the villages to be placed under a state of calamity include:
 
  • Arkong Bato
  • Balangkas
  • Bisig
  • Coloong
  • Dalandanan
  • Isla
  • Mabolo
  • Malanday
  • Malinta
  • Palasan
  • Pariancillo Villa
  • Pasolo
  • Poblacion
  • Polo
  • Rincon
  • Tagalag
  • Veinte Reales
  • Wawang Pulo
 
Earlier, Navotas City was placed under a state of calamity after also suffering much damage from rain and floods caused by "Gener." –KG, GMA News
