Classes in all levels will be suspended in Pampanga province on Wednesday in the wake of heavy rain and floods so far this week.

Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda said many schoolbuildings were damaged due to the floods, while some may still be underwater.

"Wala, mas maraming damage. Ang mga schoolbuildings baha rin, lubog din. Hindi pa siguro," she said in an interview on dzBB radio Tuesday afternoon, when asked if classes can resume in Pampanga Wednesday.

A separate report on dzBB said the suspension applies to all levels in private and public schools.

The dzBB report added Pampanga is the latest local government to declare a suspension of classes for Wednesday.

Other local governments that had declared a suspension of classes included Caloocan, Navotas and Marikina Cities, and Laguna province, the report added.

The Department of Education also suspended classes on Wednesday in Nueva Ecija and Batangas up to the high school level.
