Philippine Airlines (PAL) on Tuesday evening offered to airlift, free of charge, high value relief goods from its provincial stations to Luzon.

“The humanitarian cargo grant is part of the flag carrier’s disaster response initiative following massive flooding in the metropolis and surrounding areas,” PAL said in a statement.

Metro Manila and near-by provinces including Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Bulacan and Zambales have been experiencing heavy rains and massive flooding early this week.

The unprecedented torrential rain over Luzon is expected to last until Thursday

PAL stressed that its offer is limited to high value relief items such as medical supplies, water purifying tablets, working flashlights, battery-operated radios, brand new personal care items, undergarments, women's hygiene products, and baby diapers.

“Items like rice, instant noodles, sardines, and used clothing which are readily available in the vicinity of calamity-stricken areas are not considered high value relief goods and therefore ineligible for PAL's humanitarian cargo grant,” the statement read.

Interested charitable or non-profit organizations should email the PAL Foundation Executive Director - menchu_sarmiento@pal.com.ph - with a packing list of high value relief items, their number, sizes and the weight in kilos of the boxes, and their counterpart non-government organization’s or consignee's complete contact details.
