Bangko Sentral: PHL July foreign reserves widen to $79.3B, a new record

Philippine gross international reserves reached a new record of $79.3 billion last July, boosted by central bank’s foreign exchange transactions and higher gold prices, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas reported Wednesday.
 
The Bangko Sentral said gold holdings comprised $10 billion of the country’s foreign reserves
 
Philippine reserves totaled $76.1 billion in June.
 
Foreign reserves are the sum of all foreign exchange transactions accruing to the Philippines. — VS, GMA News
