Acting Chief Justice Carpio suspends work at Metro Manila courts Thursday
For a third consecutive day this week, the Supreme Court suspended work in all courts in Metro Manila.
"Per Acting Chief Justice Antonio T. Carpio, work in all courts in the National Capital Region (Metro Manila), including the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals, the Sandiganbayan, and the Court of Tax Appeals, is suspended tomorrow, August 9, 2012, due to inclement weather," said SC spokesperson Ma. Victoria Gleoresty Guerra in a text message to reporters.
Suspension of work in courts outside Metro Manila left to discretion of executive judges in respective areas.
This week's en banc session meanwhile has been reset to Friday, along with the Judicial and Bar Council delinerations for the shortlist of chief justice candidates. En banc session is at 9:30 a.m. while JBC meeting is at 11:00 a.m.
For the past two days, the high court had suspended work at the SC and lower trial courts all over Metro Manila, including the Court of Appeals, Court of Tax Appeals, and Sandiganbayan due to the inclement weather in the past few days due to monsoon rains southwest of Luzon.
