PAGASA: Thunderstorm to affect Manila, Taguig in next 2 hrs

August 10, 2012 5:00am
Rain fell on parts of Metro Manila before dawn Friday but state weather forecasters said it was a thunderstorm expected to affect only Manila and Taguig Cities.

In its thunderstorm warning, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the thunderstorm may last two hours.

"(The) thunderstorm is expected to affect Manila and Taguig within the next two hours," it said.

PAGASA advised residents to take precautionary measures and watch for the next update.

Earlier this week, heavy rain and floods swamped Metro Manila and nearby provinces, forcing the suspension of work and classes.

On Thursday, the weather began to improve, after a tropical cyclone enhancing the southwest monsoon responsible for the heavy rain made landfall on China. — ELR, GMA News
