NBA: 'It looks like Superman has found a home' - Kobe

August 11, 2012 1:03am

Long-time Los Angeles Laker and NBA superstar Kobe Bryant sounded thrilled by the prospect of landing Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard, commenting on his official Facebook page, "Well, it looks like Superman has found a home."

"Superman" is one of Howard's nicknames.

The 33-year-old Bryant, currently part of the United States men's basketball team playing in the London Olympics, also said, "I know LA is excited about the deal and rightfully so.

"The Lakers landed a piece that will hopefully carry the franchise long after I'm gone. I have spoken to Dwight Howard already and we are locked and loaded to bring back the title."

Bryant made sure to also give a tip of the hat to his teammate Andrew Bynum, who is expected to land with the Philadelphia 76ers as part of the four-team swap.

"I wish nothing but the best for Big Bynum. I hope he follows what was a great season last year with an even better one next year."

The so-called "Black Mamba" is a five-time NBA champion and a two-time NBA Finals MVP. Earlier in the off-season, the Lakers also landed two-time MVP point guard Steve Nash, forming a potent combination, together with Howard, himself, and power forward Pau Gasol, that has fans already dreaming of a Finals match-up against the reigning titlists, the Miami Heat.

The trade is expected to be finalized later in Friday (Saturday morning, PHL time). - AMD, GMA News
