Kinect 2 might have finger, clothes tracking
Kinect 2, the next version of Microsoft's popular Kinect accessory, may be capable of tracking fingers and clothes, if reported leaked images posted online are to be believed.
ComputerAndVideoGames.com said the images posted by "SuperDaE" hint at much greater depth perception compared to the original Kinect.
"The image appears to show that the next Kinect can track individual fingers and the shape of clothes," it said.
It added SuperDaE was the same person who published images of the Durango development kit last July. It said industry sources claimed the kit was genuine.
Meanwhile, the site also cited leaked Xbox 720 design documents showing Microsoft's plans for Kinect 2 include a setup with two camera sensors mounted on either side of the user's TV.
Such a setup will enhance Kinect's depth perception accuracy and allow for up to four players, an upgrade over the current Kinect's two players.
"According to the leaked document, the next-generation Xbox will feature Blu-ray compatibility, a form of augmented reality glasses, 'Kinect V2,' a $299.99 price point and a 2013 release window," it added. — TJD, GMA News
