PHL IOC representative awards US basketball team the gold

The International Olympic Committee's representative to the Philippines awarded the gold medals to the Americans Monday, after Team USA beat Spain, 107-100, in the championship round at the 2012 Olympic Games.
Francisco Elizalde was present at the men's basketball awarding ceremonies to award the gold medals to team USA. According to his IOC profile, Elizalde has been a member of the IOC since 1985. Born in Samar in 1932, Elizalde studied at various American academic institutions, including the Loyola School in New York, Staunton Military Academy in Virginia, and Harvard University in Massachusetts, where he became the manager of the university swim team.
