Police rescued on Friday morning a two-year old American kid and arrested his suspected kidnappers following an entrapment operation in Pampanga.

A police statement said the victim was rescued at the San Lorenzo Church in Dau, Mabalacat, Pampanga morning after the victim’s family shelled out a P250,000 ransom.

Subsequently, the Anti-Kidnapping Group operatives arrested suspected kidnappers Michael Roque, 36; and Rogelio Ramos, 44, in the same town.

According to the police, masked suspects snatched the boy at gunpoint in the victim’s residence in San Fernando City, Pampanga last Wednesday. The kidnappers also took a portable vault containing assorted jewelry and a silver BMW X3 during their escape.

The kidnappers then contacted the kid’s parents and asked for a P50-million ransom.

After a series of negotiations with the family, the kidnappers accepted a counter-offer of P250,000 with instructions to deliver the ransom in Dau.

The carjacked vehicle of the victim’s family was later recovered along the Friendship Highway in Angeles City of the same province.  — with Rouchelle Dinglasan/RSJ, GMA News
