NDRRMC: Three miners in Bicol drown in pit
Three gold miners drowned in a mining pit in Camarines Norte province in Bicol last August 10, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Saturday.
In a belated report, the NDRRMC said the incident occurred in Jose Panganiban town in Camarines Norte last August 10 at 11 a.m.
Killed were Michael Alan Perlas, 29; Andro Alan Perlas, 22; and a certain Sanorjo, 25.
All three were residents of Larap village in Jose Panganiban town, the report said.
An initial investigation showed the three were mining using an air apparatus powered by a compressor when the compressor's engine malfunctioned.
The victims were rushed to the Jose Panganiban Primary Hospital but were pronounced dead on arrival, the NDRRMC said. — LBG, GMA News
