PNoy near Robredo plane crash site off Masbate coast. President Benigno Aquino III arrived in Masbate Sunday morning to monitor the progress of the search for DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo and two pilots of the plane that crashed Saturday afternoon. Sa kabila nito, inihayag ni deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte na kasalakuyan pang tinitingnan ng Presidential Security Group kung maaari itong gawin ng Pangulo.
“That has yet to be determined. We’re waiting for word. The operations are still ongoing, that will have to be determined by the PSG if it’s possible for the president to stay there overnight,” ani Valte sa panayam ng government-run dzRB radio.
Ayon sa kanya, malapit at "personal friends" si Aquino at Robredo.
Kwento ni Valte, nang malaman ni Aquino ang pagbagsak ng eroplano ni Robredo nitong Sabado ng hapon, nais niyang agad na magtungong Masbate, ngunit hindi siya pinayagan sapagkat hindi umano ligtas sa mga oras na iyon.
“The president wanted immediately to go to Masbate except gabi na noon and it’s not safe for the president to go at that time. So they scheduled it at the earliest possible hour, and took off at 5:45 a.m.,” aniya.
Ayon kay Valte, huling nag-usap sina Aquino at Robredo noong Miyerkules sa Malacañang, ngunit maaari silang nakapag-usap sa telepono sa mga araw ng Miyerkules hanggang Sabado.
