“We in the Australian Embassy respect Ramadan as a time of sacrifice and compassion for those who are less fortunate, an outlook shared by Muslims throughout the world, including those in Australia," pahayag ni Tweddell. Dagdag pa nito, "It is the perfect time to reflect and improve on efforts toward sustainable peace and development in Mindanao, especially increasing efforts in interfaith cooperation and action.” Ayon kay AFP Chief of Staff Jessie Dellosa sa isang press release, “As the Muslim community devote themselves to prayers, fasting and charity, we as well enjoined you in undergoing spiritual cleansing and commitment to a peaceful and stable harmony with your non-Muslim brothers and sisters.” "Having been raised in Mindanao, I have shared many celebrations of Hari Raya Puasa in the warm company of Muslim families and friends. Good tidings and hopes for peace and forgiveness are expressed in these happy occasions, as the Ramadan month has strengthened their spirituality and adherence to the Merciful God," aniya. Nagsimula ang buwan ng Ramadan nitong Hulyo 20. - Mac Macapendeg/BM, GMA News
