MMDA: Number coding resumes Wednesday; to be suspended again Aug 27
With the end of the long weekend, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority reminded motorists that the number coding scheme will again be in effect Wednesday.
"Number coding resumes on Wednesday, Aug. 22. It will be suspended again next Monday, Aug. 27, due to (its being a) regular holiday," said the MMDA in its Twitter account.
Under the number coding scheme, vehicles are barred from Metro Manila's major thoroughfares from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., depending on the last digit of their plate numbers.
For Wednesday, vehicles with license plates ending in 5 and 6 are barred from major roads from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Last week, the MMDA suspended the number coding scheme for Aug. 20 and 21.
