Curses reaching LRT hotline not just about train glitches
The flak and curses that the Light Rail Transit's hotline is getting are not just about recent glitches in the LRT's operations.
LRT Authority spokesman Hernando Cabrera on Tuesday cited an incident where a woman mistook the LRTA hotline for the phone number of her husband's lover.
In a series of posts on his Twitter account, Cabrera said he once received a call where a woman hurled invectives at him.
"Yes, this is a true story. Katakot-takot na mura ang inabot ko sa misis na yun thinking na ang number ay sa kabit ng asawa niya," he said.
He then recalled the woman asking him, "Ikaw ba kabit ng asawa ko?"
Cabrera said he replied, "Sorry po, LRT hotline po ito."
But he said the woman replied, "Ang galing nyong dalawa may LRT-LRT pa kayong nalalaman."
Cabrera said he tried to call up the woman to explain, but she would not answer. "I just told her to go sa kahit anong LRT station makikita niya number," he said.
Sweet, romantic texts
On the other hand, Cabrera also said the hotline gets many sweet and romantic texts, but from males who thought a woman was handling the hotline.
"(M)ay isa pa ako napansin guys always assume na ang may hawak ng phone ay babae so I get a lot of sweet at romantic texts," he said.
He also said the hotline was left holding the bag when girls would give boys the number of the LRT hotline when they asked them for their number. –KG, GMA News
