Karen Nina Lacsamana-Carrera has been appointed Manager of the Aquino Center, effective July 16, 2012.

This was announced recently by Rafael C. Lopa, President and Executive Director of the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation (NCAF). The Aquino Center, which houses both a Museum and convention facilities, is under the wing of NCAF.

“With a full-time Manager on top of Aquino Center operations, we look forward to building broader interest in the lives and legacy of the late Senator Benigno ‘Ninoy’ Aquino and President Corazon ‘Cory” Aquino,” Mr. Lopa said. “At the same time, we are optimistic about growing the convention side of the Aquino Center to raise the much-needed revenues with which to maintain the facilities.”

Ms. Carrera graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences degree from the Ateneo de Manila University in 1997. She completed the course requirements for Master of Communication at the same university from 2000 to 2005.  From 1997-2008, she has been involved in marketing and selling diverse products and services, including convention venues, and in organizing events.  At the same time, she has been doing continuous work with the Tarlac Convention and Visitors Bureau, through which she has honed her skills in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Convention/Conferences and Exhibitions/Events) arena.
