PAGASA warns of flash floods, landslides in 7 Luzon provinces
Flash floods and landslides threaten at least seven areas in Luzon due to rain from the southwest monsoon enhanced by Tropical Cyclone Igme (Tembin), PAGASA warned Wednesday afternoon.
In an advisory issued at 12 p.m. Wednesday, PAGASA said the southwest monsoon enhanced by Igme will bring "moderate to heavy" rains (3.0 to 15.0 mm/hr) with strong winds to areas including Ilocos, La Union, Abra, Benguet, Pangasinan, Zambales and Bataan.
Earlier, PAGASA said Igme exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility Tuesday night, but will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon.
Meanwhile, PAGASA said a low-pressure area east of Mindanao was estimated at 325 km east of Hinatuan City as of 10 a.m.
It said the LPA is expected to bring moderate to heavy rain (5.0 to 10.0 mm/hr) and thunderstorms particularly over Agusan, Surigao, Davao, Compostela Valley and Zamboanga. — BM, GMA News
