PAGASA: only Binga Dam keeps gate open
Only one major dam in Northern Luzon kept its gates open Monday to let out excess water, PAGASA's Hydrology Division said.
As of 6 a.m., only Binga Dam in Benguet province kept one gate open at 0.3 meter, while Magat Dam in the Ifugao-Isabela area had closed its gate.
PAGASA said Binga Dam had also kept one gate open at 0.3 meter on Sunday.
As of Monday, it said Binga's water level was at 574.33 meters, slightly below Sunday's level of 574.34 meters. This was still below the 575-meter high level.
On the other hand, Magat Dam closed its gates at 5:20 a.m. It had kept one gate open at one meter on Sunday.
As of 6 a.m. Monday, PAGASA said the water level at Magat was 192.79 meters, lower than Sunday's 193.12 meters.
However, the 192.79 meters as of Monday is higher than the dam's high water level of 190 meters. –KG, GMA News
